The Aqaba's port authority has ruled that any B/L of a shipment arriving to
Aqaba containing dangerous goods shall include the following information:
IMO ClassUN No.
Packing group
CAS No. Shipments not complying with the above will be detained, holding the shipping line responsible for the expenses, damages and accidents that may occur during the detention period.
The CAS No. shall be shown for each substance declared as dangerous goods. For mixtures declared as dangerous goods, the CAS No. shall be mentioned for each substance being a component of the mixture. IMO Class 1.1 explosives, ammonium nitrate, radio active material and potassium chloride are prohibited to be discharged along side and needs to be discharged at Anchorage area in Aqaba port , accordingly this type of cargo not to be accepted to Aqaba.
