Port of Destination Regulations
El Salvador
1.- Freights to El Salvador :
All cargoes destined to El Salvador must be freighted in US Dollars. Freights as Per agreement and Seawaybills are NOT accepted Customs Authorities. Port of loading agencies shall declare all freights on BL and never leave BL unfreighted.
2.- Consignees / Notify :
Full style of consignee and/or notify party is required. (must be indicated all relevant information: address-telephone-fax-city-contact person).
Consignee/Notify MUST be a company with an address in El Salvador. If Consignee is "TO THE ORDER", the full style of a Salvadorian NOTIFY PARTY is needed.
2.1 .- Cargo consigned to a Bank :
Name of the bank and city. Notify party: full information. Name, address, City, State or Province, Zip code or Postal code, phone number and fax number.-
2.2 .- Cargo consigned to a Person or a Company :
Name of Consignee or Company - Name / Address at El Salvador / City /Telephone / Fax.- Notify party: full information. Name, address, City, State or Province, Zip code or Postal code, phone number and fax number.-
3.- Cargo description :
General description such as: General merchandise, departments goods, F.A.K., is allowed. Besides, guaranties and type of packages shall be clearly indicated.
4.- Temporary admittance of Containers in El Salvador.
El Salvador Customs establish a temporary admittance of 90 days for all containers arrived to the territory, after this period of time containers will be exposed to possible fines and seizure. Please make sure item 2; 2.1; 2.2 of this instruction are fully accomplished. We also advice to check with shippers the knowledge of consignee to reduce possibilities of abandoned cargo.
