Please be informed that according to resolution of Servicio Nacional de Sanidad Agraria (SENASA) issued on February 19th 2006, it has been determined that as from February 20th 2006, wooden material used in the packaging of cargo (WPM) to Peru shall be manufactured with wood treated and marked in the last origin country.
·WPM (Wooden Packaging Material) must receive Thermic treatment (HT) or be fumigated with Methyl Bromide (MB) and shall have a permanent mark on, at least, two sides of the packing, as evidence of its treatment, as per the attached logo from the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC).
·Marks shall be legible and complete, and shall not be red or orange, colors used to identify dangerous cargoes and WPM shall be without bark.
·Quarantine insects , alive or in any phase of development, shall not be detected.
In case of non compliance of any of the above mentioned, SENASA will separate WPM from the cargo at customer's risk and expense.
Having in consideration time needed to obtain Customs clearance of cargo donations in Peru, which sometimes takes over 60 days, please be informed that from now on, Booking Agent must notify CSAV's agent in Peru, Messrs. Consorcio Naviero Peruano (CNP), before closing/confirming the cargo, to obtain from the Consignee a confirmation letter that the extra costs that could arise as a consequence of the above mentioned situation, like: demurrage, detention, etc., will be fully paid by the Consignee (s). Booking agent, under no circumstances, can accept donations without CNP's written confirmation to do so. Extra costs associated to the none fulfillment of this instruction, will be on Booking Agent's behalf. (IN008/2006 & IN010/2006)
