1.Information requirement on Bill of Lading & Manifest
·Shipper, Consignee, and Notify Party must have Full Style Address including correct Phone and Fax numbers
·Full and specific description of the cargo is mandatory, no general description is acceptable.
·Descriptions such as below are PROHIBITED.
·GENERAL CARGO,
·FREIGHT OF ALL KIND, (F.A.K.),
·SAID TO CONTAIN
·PLASTIC MATERIALS
·Ship Agents Can Not be consignee of cargo
·Never manifest a cargo to be landed to order of the Ship Agents,
NAVETRANS CORP. will refuse acceptance of cargo manifested to us as consignee. 2.Cargo and Containers Conditions
·Containers must be free of ruptures, holes, punctures
·Containers and cargo must be free of possible pests such as: rodents, insects, animals and spreadable diseases
·Equipment must be checked for compliant and good operating conditions
3.Documentation data transmission to Customs and Port Authorities
·Bill of Lading information complete electronic transmission 48 hours before vessel arrival
·Penalties start from $5,000 US first violation up to $10,000 US per bill of lading for every subsequent violation.
·For short transit, Customs accept a transmission deadline equivalent to the transit from the port of loading
·Undeclared/overlanded cargo subject to fines and confiscation by Customs
·Data transmission deadline and condition are applied to Transshipment Cargoes
4.Manifest Correction
·Apply the same deadline and condition as data transmission
5.Overlanded Cargo To San Juan
·Cargo wrongly discharged in San Juan will be treated just like a regular cargo manifested to be landed in San Juan, the very same procedures and regulations will be applied
6.Freight Collection
·Only require pre-advise if the freight of bills of lading is over USD 7,500.
·If freight is to be INCREASED before the correction is made, pre-approval must be requested from Agent as it can be that the cargo has already been released or that the client does not accept a change of conditions to a B/L he already has.
·If freight is to be changed from Prepaid to Collect Puerto Rico, before the correction is made pre-approval must be requested from Agent as it can be that the cargo has already been released or that the client does not accept a change of conditions to a B/L he already has.
7.Customs working time in Puerto Rico
·United States Customs and Local Authorities regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 0900-1600 Hrs.
·No working during Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.
